I have learned a great deal over the past week. I learned about the MYP Mathematics Curriculum, tricks for the first week, and humidity and tape do not mix well together. The last one may seem inconsequential, but I learned a hard three hour lesson that if you hang posters up with masking tape, they will all fall down by the next morning.
Other than spending three hours fixing the tape fiasco, I had a productive and rewarding week. I attached some pictures of my classroom. The school has a room that almost looks like an Amazon warehouse. We have access to most resources we would ever need, so I didn’t have to spend my own money setting up my classroom. It is much different than what generally happens in the States.
I have begun taking part in the Top Tier Tuesday at the school! Below is my first time ever wearing a bowtie. It only took me about thirty minutes to learn, but now I’m a pro. I will be participating every Tuesday from here on out.
Kuwaiti Fact of the Day:
Kuwait’s official religion is Islam. This means their holy day is Friday. Therefore, my weekend is much different than the western weekend. Our week begins on Sunday and ends Thursday. So when the weekend in the U.S. is beginning, my weekend is pretty much ending because I am seven hours ahead of the East Coast. It feels strange to get off from work on a Thursday and go back to work on a Sunday.
